The LifeHorse Staff All of the LifeHorse staff are volunteers - we have no paid staff. Stacy Erin Huston-Waterous President and Founder :
Stacy has a B.A. in English from
the University of Michigan, a Jurist Doctorate from Michigan State University's
Detroit College of Law, and holds a teaching certification in
English and History. Stacy has been instructing children for 16
years and rides Dressage, Hunt Seat, Saddle Seat, Western, Drives,
Barrel Races, Jumps and participates in judged trail events. She is
also the Midwest representative for the
Quarter Pony
Association. Stacy became involved in challenged riding in
1991 when her best friend's sister, a young girl with Spina Bifida,
started showing Ele. Since that time, she has been active in
various therapeutic and challenged riding programs. Stacy holds a
level 3 certification from AAEAA.
Sparkle Huston Vice President : Sparkle is a massage therapist and is currently working on her holistic medical degree. Sparkle is also an Equine Myofascial Release Therapist and is responsible for keeping all of the horses "together" at the farm. Sparkle has 14 years of experience in human Myofascial Release, and 8 years in Equine. She has owned horses for eighteen years, has completed the Michigan State Horse Training Course, and is currently working towards her Equine Arts and Sciences degree. She also completed the Equine Myofascial Release Seminar in Grosse Ile, Michigan in 1996. Before becoming involved in Myofacial Release, Sparkle was a respiratory therapist for 18 years and a pulmonary rehabilitation therapist for 7 years, she was also a certified CPR instructor. Robert Huston Volunteer Coordinator : Robert was a police officer in Oxford before going into Real Estate. He is currently with Century 21. Robert is responsible for coordinating all volunteers and helping to assign kids to horses. Amanda Hoisington Secretary: Amanda has been an active LifeHorse volunteer since 2004 and enjoys working with both the horses and the children. Jodi Malec Treasurer: Jodi came to LifeHorse in 2010 with several years experience n therapeutic riding, and a wonderful son who is doing amazing things in our program! Jodi will be gaining her certification to be an instructor through AAEAA. |
